Light of the World

“Step into the Light” This is probably one of the most well-known pieces of scripture. In it we hear how Jesus will be lifted up as the Light of the World, so that those who love darkness may see the light. This is Jesus’ main reason for coming to earth. He wants to shine light in the dark places of the world and convince us to leave the darkness behind. We don’t want to love the darkness, but sometimes we find it easier to stay hidden than be in God’s light. Through this text, we hear God’s promises to save, and we should trust in them with all our heart.
